We have built up an extensive bank of experience in the use of a wide range of materials in a wide range of situations and applications. Our library of technical knowledge enables us to draw on both experience and preserved data for the design of all types of new-build installations as well as the refurbishment of exisitng in-service plant.

Much of Lancaster's refurbishment work is where contractors have used alternative systems which, over a period of years, and in some cases only months, have failed. Our earliest gas turbine installations dating back to 1988 continue to operate trouble-free.

This success is based upon certain key scientific principles which have given us a competetive advantage in this prime market. Our starting point is extracting a specific vein of basalt which is delivered to our plant in Lancaster, melted in our furnaces and then fiberised to precise fibre tolerances of length and diameter. Only because of this level of involvement are we able to guarantee our products' acoustic and thermal performance.

This understanding of the importance of the science of fibre manufacture, the design of the end product and the ability to control the whole process of fibre design and manufacture in-house, gives Lancaster the ingredients to be the unique resource for specialist, engineered fibre insulation systems for industrial and aviation turbine applications.


EXPERIENCE

Lancaster GTB Systems has more experience than any other manufacturer of specialist infill materials. Lancaster has provided more acoustic and thermal insulation material for more gas turbines and power generators than anyone else.

Our experience continues to grow in line with new developments in the power generation and aero engine industries, providing new materials for demanding new applications.
